Hopeless front teeth were replaced with fixed bridgework (also call a fixed partial denture) over thirty years ago! Gum and bone disease (periodontal disease) had weakened these teeth’s support to the point that they turned to a horizontal position and became an esthetic nightmare. The treatment of the abutment teeth (the teeth that the bridge is attached to) brought the periodontal disease to a controlled status and added strength back to them. Many years later, you can see that the periodontal maintenance and bridge is still holding true.
